A nation is known by its dwellers and their budding talent. All the international events and meets happening all around the world are a way of portraying that very talent. One of these international events is Olympic Games. It is a leading international sporting event featuring summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions. In order to promote more young talents in the sport, efforts are being made on behalf of organizations as well as government. The NRAI (National Rifle Association of India) is an association that has been set up for the sole purpose of enabling more aspirants to nurture and enhance their skills.
One such initiative was started by Hallmark Public School, one of the best schools in Panchkula in 2016 by setting up the 1st digital lane academy.
The academy intends to prepare young aspirants for international shooting events like the Olympic Games. Following is the list of disciplines the participants are trained for:
- 10 m Air Rifle: It is an ISSF event where athletes shoot over a distance of 10 meters or 10.94 yards in standing positions, using 4.5 millimetres or 0.177 inches caliber rifle, with a maximum weight of 5.5 kilograms or 12.13 libbers.
- The 10m Air Pistol: It is an ISSF event where athletes shoot over a distance of 10 meters or 10.94 yards in standing positions, using a 4.5 millimetres or 0.177 inches caliber rifle, with a maximum weight of 5.5 kilograms or 12.13 libbers.
Mark-10 the NRAI certified first Shooting Sports Academy in Panchkula is a remarkable step to organize combat amongst the highest-ranking shooters as it provides rigorous training and hands-on experience on state of the art technology which finally boosts their confidence resulting in refined performance.
